You’ll definitely want to look at Carmon Hardy’s two books, Solemn Covenant: The Mormon Polygamous Passage and Doing the Works of Abraham: Mormon Polygamy. Both of them are indispensible for the 1890 to 1904 period, and aren’t bad on the pre-1890 period either. Also, although dated, Gustive O. Larson’s The “Americanization” of Utah for Statehood has some good material on the Raid.

Weird, apparently Solemn Covenant is non-circulating in a section of our library in another city about 2 hours drive away. So I cannot interlibrary loan it nor borrow it.
And the other is not out until next month.
Thanks for ideas though, and I have asked for Larson’s book.

I’m not sure what you mean by this. It went on sale last summer.
If you can’t get ahold of Solemn Covenant, then I suggest substituting it with Quinn’s Dialogue article on “New Plural Marriages.”
