One Eternal Round

Often one hears the phrase in Scripture of “One Eternal Round”.

See the following:

1st Nephi 10:19
For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in these times as in times of old, and as well in times of old as in times to come; wherefore, the course of the Lord is one eternal round.

Alma 7:20
I perceive that it has been made known unto you, by the testimony of his word, that he cannot walk in crooked paths; neither doth he vary from that which he hath said; neither hath he a shadow of turning from the right to the left, or from that which is right to that which is wrong; therefore, his course is one eternal round.

Doctrine and Covenants 35:1
Listen to the voice of the Lord your God, even Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, whose one eternal round, the same today as yesterday, and forever.

Now my question here is what does this mean?
To me that has been confusing but in some respects in looking at the various scriptures it appears to be referring to the work of God as being one eternal round.  Or in Alma it seems to say that his purpose cannot be swayed off of the singular path so that is the eternal round.

I have wondered about this verse because to me this is a strange phrase that to me has always conjured up a almost reincarnated, you start from intelligence, to spirt, to embodied imperfect spirit, to spirit to perfect embodied spirit to godliness to…. see if it was one eternal round would you not at some point start over again.  Then I think of songs like Oh My Father which talk about eternal increase and I read the verses over again and I realize it is an imperfect understanding.

What fascinates me is how often we spin things and later reread them and have a totally different experience with scriptures.  It shows to me how little we know because of our imperfections we either are constantly relearning or at least reinternalizing a great deal of what we thought we knew.

Anyone else have an ephany like that before?
